S E N A T E    R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING SUSAN TESSIER MACKENZIE FOR BEING CHOSEN THE JAYCEES' OUTSTANDING CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

WHEREAS, It has been learned that Susan Tessier MacKenzie has been chosen as the Jaycees' Outstanding Young Citizen of the Year for 1999; and

WHEREAS, Susan, while serving as Jaycee President in 1993, surpassed all records as Chairperson of the Milk Fund, raising over $100,000. She is also a committee member for the Catholic Regional School silent auction and is also very active in the Toys for Tots program; and

WHEREAS, Susan has also participated in the "Jail and Bail" fund-raiser for Muscular Dystrophy, donated toys and food for the Paul Dempsters Food Kitchen annual Christmas party, has coordinated fashion shows for the Cumberland High School S.A.A.D, organized a relief fund for Hurricane Andrew victims, and participated in an Operation Desert Storm Assistance Program; and

WHEREAS, Owner of Classic Limousine, Susan has donated her time and efforts to the Jaycees, Autumnfest, local schools, Mardi Gras, Milk Fund, and Operation Loneliness, while raising over $4,000 for the 1999 Mardi Gras Celebration. She has also agreed to be a celebrity waiter for a Leukemia foundation fund-raiser to be held at the Kirkbrae Country Club and is a member of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Susan Tessier MacKenzie on being named the 1999 Outstanding Young Citizen of the Year by the Jaycees and also congratulates her husband, Ron and her daughters Michelle and Alex. This Senate also wishes her the best of luck in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Susan Tessier MacKenzie.
