WHEREAS, In a society that grows increasingly fragmented and fractious, and all too often tempts its youth to selfish and unwise decisions, it is a very special young man who chooses to dedicate himself to the service of others by putting into practice the noble ideals of the Scout Oath and Scout Lore. Timothy I. Goodwin is just such a first-rate youth, and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and
WHEREAS, Timothy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goodwin; and
WHEREAS, For his Eagle project, Timothy supervised and coordinated "Have a Heart For Hunger". By accumulating over 1900 cans of food and distributing them to local food banks, Timothy's project guaranteed many homeless and less fortunate people a nice Thanksgiving and Christmas; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this House of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby honors Timothy I. Goodwin for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Convinced that Timothy's distinguished career in Scouting will prepare him for a life replete with accomplishments and success, the membership is likewise, certain that he will continue to dedicate a large part of that life to the service of others; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Timothy I. Goodwin.
