RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES -- WEAPONS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 11-47-12 of the General Laws in Chapter 11-47 entitled "Weapons" |
2 | is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 11-47-12. License or permit fee. -- A fee of forty dollars ($40.00) shall be charged and |
4 | shall be paid for each license or permit to the licensing authority issuing it. Every license or |
5 | permit shall be valid for four (4) years from the date when issued unless sooner revoked. The fee |
6 | charged for issuing of the license or permit shall be applied for the use and benefit of the city, |
7 | town, or state of Rhode Island. Upon expiration, renewal shall be automatic, subject to payment |
8 | of the fee, and a criminal background check. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
